The time of your life

This blog post is long overdue. I have been struggling for two weeks to write this. This post is all about raising your personal vibrations and my own vibrations have been so off these past couple of weeks. I am supposed to have plenty of energy and motivation at the beginning of the new year. But alas…

To understand this struggle better, I did some journaling. The operative word is some. In my journaling I came to the awareness that I am not as committed to my daily agenda as I should be. I go to bed late at night which causes the difficulty that I can’t wake up early to mediate, do my morning pages and yoga. So my day is not as calm as I want it to be. I just play catch up the whole day.

Then there is major shifts and changes happening in my life at the moment. I need to acknowledge this changes. I need to acknowledge that things might be difficult. And I need to embrace the emotions around it.

My personality is frazzled and chaotic. This creates the space for anxiety and overwhelm, which in turns leads to procrastination. There is no better procrastinator than me!

The more the procrastination, the less gets done. The more frazzle and chaos and anxiety. The more anxiety and chaos, the lower my vibration/ energy.

This post is more for myself than anybody else, but I hope it will help you as well.

So what is vibration anyway? It is a fancy way of describing your overall state of being. A state of being is the quality of your present experience. My state of being these last two week hasn’t been good. I was tired and overwhelmed. One could say my vibrations was low. My energy wasn’t high.

{Frequency is how often an event repeat itself over a set amount of time. Frequency is movement. Human beings are in a constant state of movement or energy.}

If your vibration is lower, your energy will be denser, you will feel slower, saturated. Your problems will feel heavier. My problems felt heavy and immense these last couple of weeks.

When vibrations feel lower and slower:

  • you may experience pain and discomfort in your body
  • your emotions might feel heavy and you may experience mental confusion
  • you need to work harder to accomplish your goals
  • life feels more negative and overwhelming

The lower your vibration, the more out of sync you will feel with your natural self. I am one of those human beings who want to feel good about life. I want to enjoy every moment. I don’t like to battle with lower vibrations, but it is part of life. When there is an up, there must be a down. Downs become easier to manage when you are aware that it will happen.

When you are more aware of the ups and downs in life, you will also have strategies in place to manage the downs.

It is a natural part of life to experience the downs. Be gentle with yourself. Make time to meditate and journal. Eat healthy and nourishing food. Create the space for gentle exercise. Practise self care.

When your vibration is high, you will experience the beautiful sense of living in the flow.

The higher the frequency of your vibration, the lighter you feel in your physical, emotional and mental body. You will experience greater personal power, clarity, peace, love and joy.

When your vibrations are higher and lighter, you will:

  • have little or none discomfort and pain
  • deal easily with your emotions
  • feel light and full of energy
  • take on a positive quality in your life

The higher your vibration, the more you are in touch with your natural self. Thank goodness January has come to an end! Tomorrow is the 1st of February, a brand new month. So if you are feeling like me, on the lower end of the frequency, there are some things you can do in this new month the raise your vibrations.

Here are some simple ways to raise your vibrations:

1.Become more aware of your thoughts. Did you know you have more than 70 000 thoughts a day. When was the last time you “listened” to your thoughts? Most of our thoughts are quite negative.

Proverbs 4:23-25 says the following, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free from perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.”

To change a negative thought pattern, we need to become aware of that thought pattern. How would you do that? When a negative thought enter your mind, acknowledge it and thank it for being there, but then you need to dismiss it and actively change it to a positive thought.

2. Be more conscious of the food you eat. Food has its own vibrations. Broccoli and blueberries have high frequencies. A McDonalds burger don’t vibrate at all.

When your health and well being are important to you, you owe it to yourself to eat foods that nourish and support your well being. Fresh, colourful fruits and veggies are usually packed with everything your body needs to function optimally.

3. Drink water. An obvious one, but people don’t drink as much water as they should. Water cleanses the body of toxins. When there are too much toxins in your body, it can lower your vibrations.

Drink water to remove what isn’t necessary or beneficial for your body.

4. Movement is life. Exercise gets the blood pumping. Vibration is movement. A human body is in a constant state of movement. You need to exercise to get your vibration higher. The more you move, the happier your body will be. Exercise helps to release endorphins, the feel good hormone. Do the happy dance!

5. Be grateful. When we shift our awareness to the goodness in our lives, we automatically raise our vibrations. There are so many good things in your life. So many people and things you can be grateful for. I write morning pages and part of this is writing five things I am grateful for. It is a wonderful practice to be aware of all the good things in life.

6. Meditate/ pray. We need to find the space in the day, to still the mind. To become calm and comfortable in our own space. When we sit in stillness for 10 minutes each day, we allow thoughts and ideas that are nourishing for our being to enter our conscious mind. We need to find calmness to alleviate the anxiety and busyness of life.

You don’t need to become stuck in the patterns of doubt, fear and anxiety of January. You are allowed to change your mind and with that your vibration and energy. February is the month of love. Make this the month in which you fall in love with your life ❤️
